This feature, however, could make a negative impact especially when there are children accessing the internet. When they start browsing under the hood, we cannot know if the sites they are visiting are safe or not. Granted, you could use a keylogger or spyware but there is a simpler option of just disabling the incognito mode.
How Do I Disable Incognito Mode on Google Chrome?
To turn on or off the incognito on Chrome, you need a Reg_DWORD data type file named IncognitoModeAvailability. You can find it on both Windows and macOS. On Windows OS, there are two ways to create a Reg_DWORD data file. You can either use the system command with the command prompt or manually create it through the Registry editor.
Via Command Prompt
By changing the value data of IncognitoModeAvailability file from 0 to 1, you can disable private mode. You can easily do so using the command prompt as an administrator. You just need to enter the command to change the value data if you’re disabling incognito for the first time. For repeated users, you need to enter the command and then overwrite the previous value data. Here are the steps you need to follow to do so. If you want to re-enable the Incognito mode, you can follow the same steps mentioned above but replace 1 with 0 on the command.
Via Registry Editor
Using the command prompt automatically changes the value data to deactivate Incognito. However, you can manually do so using the Registry editor as well. Furthermore, you need to individually create the REG_DWORD value data file. Follow the steps mentioned below to close Incognito mode on Google Chrome using Registry Editor. After you complete the process mentioned above, you need to close the Registry Editor and restart your computer. Also, you can change 1 to 0 in step 16 to re-enable the Incognito mode that you disabled previously.
Disable Chrome Incognito Mode on Mac
Using Terminal on Mac is as easy as using the Command Prompt in Windows to disable Chrome’s Incognito mode. You can use two commands in succession to change the value data from 0 to 1 and turn off secure browsing. So, follow the steps mentioned below to do so.
Can You Turn Off Incognito Mode on Android?
